Owning a food truck is hard work, we don't have to tell you that. It's not a nine to five job and you often work way over time. Because if your food truck is closed, you need to work on the administration, booking, or preparation for the next day. Unfortunately, stress and burn-outs are widespread in the food truck industry. You absolutely want to avoid that! If you believe in what you’re doing, constantly produce outstanding food and fantastic service, and find a great balance between work and life, you can make it! We have some tips for you to maintain a great work-life balance.

    • Set your priorities. Of course, your food truck is important to you, but is that the only thing that matters in life? Probably not. So make a list of your priorities. What do you think is important and how important are these things? Check if you are devoting enough time to your top priorities. Is that not the case? Change it!
    • Create a good foundation.A solid working method, dishes that score, good administration, etc. A good foundation ensures peace in the food truck. This means that everyone who works in your food truck knows what to do and the work can go on even when you are not there. Next to this, it ensures that you can transfer your work if necessary and enjoy the other things in life with ease. Friends, family, a well-deserved vacation...
    • Build a great team. In addition to a good foundation , a great team is essential. People you can rely on, whom you can trust and who have the qualities to drive your food truck when you are not there. Even when you're there, you benefit from a great team. Good employees make work easier and more fun! This will likely make it easier for you to let go of your work and focus on other priorities. A great team really is the be-all and end-all of any food truck to charge.
    • Do something that energizes you.Go to a party, visit an amusement park, have an amazing dinner, take a long walk, binge a Netflix series, visit the sauna, or do a crazy hard workout. Do all the things that energize you! And from which people do you get energy? Your partners, children, friends? Or maybe you just want to do something on your own? Make sure you regularly fill your time with the people and activities that make you happy. And sometimes do nothing at all! Then you can go back to work full of energy in your food truck.
    • Avoid activities that drain your energy. In addition to the activities that give you energy, there are certainly also things that drain your energy. What only costs you energy and what you may not even like to do that much. Your administration, for example, cleaning your house or shopping. List these energy guzzlers, and see how you can avoid these activities. Maybe you can outsource something? Your energy is limited, so it is better to use it for things that make you happy.
